How does a water garden works?
If you are planning on picking up tips from your neighbors, friends and family then be prepared to be greeted with confusing stares than satisfying answers. The easiest way one can start getting into water gardening is by having a pond in the backyard.
Instead of starting straight out with a huge pond at the backyard, you should start with a moderate size one instead. This is just in case if you didn't like it, you can remove the entire water garden easily and it costs cheaper to remove a smaller size pond than a bigger one.
It is not as easy as just digging a hole and filling up the hole with body of water in your backyard, this is because without lining the water will eventually seeps back into the soil, and thus wasting your effort. What you need to do is to buy a liner from your local garden center, which will act as the same way as a swimming pool.
Once you have yourself a pool of water, then you can start planting on them. The easiest plant that you can get started with is water lilies, their unique root system will ensure that they will be floating instead of submerges in the water, and they can be found in many different colors.
The water lilies are extremely easy on the eye and can easily turn that body of water into an attractive water garden, only thing to keep in mind is that they thrive in warmer weathers, which is why you should do it for your summer.
That said, having a body of water will always attract insects and bugs to breed on them, as such arm yourself with the appropriate knowledge and learn how to take care of your water garden before it becomes the breeding ground for mosquitoes and bugs.
